This is a lovely mid-century Japanese akoya saltwater cultured pearl ocean or waves inspired circle brooch. The motif appears to be waves crashing on the shore.

The pearl is 5.25mm round. It has a white cream color and good luster. It also has rosy pink overtones. 

It is made of solid sterling that has a high polished section and another section with crosshatching and diamond cutting. Stamped "STERLING". Measures 1 1/4 Inch across. From the 1950's-1970's.

All pearls are truly vintage and have only been lightly cleaned.
